BACKGROUND

The Imagine Vine Neighborhood Plan was finalized in 2019 and is part of the broader Imagine Kalamazoo 2025 (IK2025) planning process, which is designed to engage and realize the community's vision for itself. A key feature of this plan is neighborhood connectivity, e.g. improved sidewalk conditions, traffic calming, improved neighborhood connectivity to the rest of Kalamazoo.

The Vine Neighborhood Association (VNA) proposed and installed a Protected Cycle Track Pilot along Lovell St (Burdick to Pearl St*). **

*A pilot project is defined as a temporary, small-scale project implemented on a trial basis to evaluate a piece/configuration of infrastructure's efficacy and work out any operational needs before scaling up. The purpose of a pilot project is to build confidence in a piece/configuration of infrastructure in a low-risk and low-cost way.

**Segment A - Kalamazoo Mall to Park St, two-way travel

**Segment B - Park St to Pearl St, one-way travel (westbound)
