The City of Kalamazoo is seeking applicants for a VISTA AmeriCorps Service Opportunity available through the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan. This is a full-time yearlong position starting on August 17, 2020.

This position will be responsible for:

• Supporting the development of one or more neighborhood economic development programs in partnership with Neighborhood Associations and City staff

• Engaging local entrepreneurs and small business owners and expanding participation and knowledge of existing programs. 

The VISTA service member will work with the Neighborhood Activator and Economic Development staff to develop, implement, and evaluate programs based on neighborhood plans and business engagement. Projects may include but are not limited to public art and murals, a corridor façade program, and corridor branding and marketing.
